Requesting access to a client's Shopify store as a Shopify Partner

đź‘‹ If you're reading this article, it means you're looking for how to access your client's Shopify back office. You've come to the right place! I'll show you how right away.
You can read the article or watch the video 👇, whichever you prefer.
Shopify has done a good job and allows e-merchants to securely grant back-office access to their online store in 2 ways: with an employee account or a collaborator account.
The collaborator account
The account owner can grant employee and collaborator access. In your case, you will request collaborator access.
Before going to your back office, you will need 2 essential pieces of information: your client's store URL (e.g., example.myshopify.com) and the collaborator code (4 digits) if the option has been activated. Generally, clients don't know how to grant access. I've published a tutorial specifically for clients (I was tired of explaining it to them 10,000 times, haha). There's a table of contents, so you can directly show them starting from the "Granting collaborator access" section.
Add the store
Once the person has given you these 2 pieces of information, you can add the store to your Shopify Partners account.
You just need to go to "Stores" > "Add store," and then you have a choice between 2 options. You must click on "Managed store," and then you need to enter the URL, the code, and finally the permissions.
Permissions
I'll quickly explain permissions!
Unlike employees, collaborators cannot access certain permissions: editing or refunding orders, adding or deleting employees, approving app charges, changing payment methods, etc., all for security, of course.
Generally, you will only need the permissions that allow you to modify the code or the store. You can also click on "Manage settings," "Home," and "Products." If at any point you are blocked regarding access, you can ask your client to add them, so don't worry too much about it.
If you want more details, Shopify has an excellent article, I invite you to check it out if you're interested. The link: https://help.shopify.com/fr/manual/your-account/staff-accounts/staff-permissions/staff-permissions-descriptions.
Last step
Once the request is sent, the client will receive a request that they must accept. And there you go, you will have access to the store. The client can delete your account once the service is finished.
I want to warn you, be very careful with what you do in the store (especially if you touch the code or design). Don't hesitate to duplicate the store so that if you make a mistake, you can delete or revert.
This is the end of this tutorial; I hope it helped you.
